I did 38 years with my local police and am now a retired LEO. The LEO job is incredibly dangerous and hugely rewarding. But when you do all the right things you will still find yourself being sued and taken into civil or even criminal court. In most cases my employer had my back and that was reassuring that I didn't have to rob from my family to pay the legal bills. Now that I am retired and conceal carry 100% of the time away from home I know that USCCA has got my back. I was a firearms instructor for 31 of my years and continue to train in CCW (friends only) and conduct LEOSA qualification to other LEO's. My bride is also a CCW and a member. We slept well at night knowing USCCA has our backs. And yes, as a retired LEO I am always running mental scenarios in my head based on the observation of the moment. To the point of being prepared to fake a heart attack in my safe room and falling to the floor next to one of my hidden guns. Ready to launch a few 45acp into the bad guy/s. Always on guard in this really crazy new world. Thank you for being there for us members.
