The variety of educational materials that come with the membership have been invaluable to me. There's only so much we can learn from a one or two day concealed carry permit course, and I think everyone who plans to carry concealed should become a member of USCCA for both the security of having insurance and the top-notch educational materials. 2A rights are important, but every one of us should take the responsibility of getting further training. I had no idea going in, just how much was involved in the serious responsibility associated with carrying concealed. A better understanding of how to maintain situational awareness can help us avoid being involved in a self-defense situation in the first place. Or if it's unavoidable, scenario training in advance on the thought processes that go into deciding in a split second if and when to shoot, could be a life saver. I hope I never need to draw my weapon in defense, but I feel a little better prepared with USCCA's online and book training, along with regular in-person range practice and training.
