While raised in a household that had loaded guns at the ready for home defense, I was never taught to handle them. My husband, an avid outdoorsman and legal concealed carrier taught me how to handle and shoot. While my husband talked to me about gun safety, my father talked to me about legal safety and the reality of choosing to carry in the modern world. Daddy has been a USCCA member for for many years. He encouraged me to do my own research and gave me some pointers on what to look for. Ultimately, I agreed with Daddy's wisdom and signed up both my husband and myself. We have moved from a dangerous urban area to the rural south and both carry everyday with the confidence that we have an ally should we ever have to use our weapons to defend ourselves. We also take advantage of the wide variety of training resources offered to members. We will be life-long members.
