Fortunately I have not had to use the service for its intended purpose and hope I never have to. That said, it is an insurance company and I despise insurance of all kinds. Recent claims from Attorneys on Retainer has made me question the support I will actually receive from USCCA. I do like the concealed carry magazine and videos. USSCA should continue to position itself as an educational and development product for ccw holders and not a legal retainer.

As an instructor for USCCA I appreciate the interaction with so many gun enthusiasts and my co-instructors. I work for Keep Calm and Carry in Southwestern Illinois with Dave Young and Clint Montoya. Matt Gilreath is our regional USCCA rep and he's right with us so we have more direct access to updates and such I think. It's a great group and I enjoy teaching and better yet, getting to the range and shooting. I'm a retired combat skills instructor for the USAF so I get to keep doing what I enjoyed for so many years.

Most important thing is the insurance. However, I do worry about being covered if something unfortunate happens. I often wonder how many cases you have denied in California. To be honest, I do think about switching companies often. Bottom line is that I want insurance that will be there for me if I need it.

As a resident in a Blue State (CA) if I use a firearm in a legal self defense, they are coming for me, not the criminal. I could be imprisoned or financially ruined. The reason I joined is for the legal defense insurance to defend me against a Trump type conviction.

If they ever have to use their firearm in self defense they will be glad they are a USCCA member!
