Call me overly optimistic, but I believe in America. I believe in the power of the American people to overcome whatever bad politicians somehow make it into office. The founders of this nation were so smart, they built a framework that has, so far, transcended all the idiots we have thrown at it.
How many presidents or politicians can you name who were accused of plotting to ruin the country? How many times have we thought our leaders were ignoring the needs of the people to further a political agenda? Remember when Obama was going to spark a national emergency so he could impose martial law and remain in office? Remember when George W. Bush was guiding us to ruin by waging two wars the politicians would not let our soldiers win? Remember when Bill Clinton was going to take away every gun in the country? How many times has the Constitution prevailed? The nation and its Constitution are stronger than any group of politicians.
My friend Gary Nski photographed this eagle as it was being released from a raptor rehab center. How fitting that such a magnificent symbol of freedom would need help to once again soar. Politicians will come and go, but we, the people, are the beating heart of this country and, with our help, the Republic will survive.
From time to time I will remind my viewers that we need to do our part to help this country soar again. And I’ll do it from in front of this eagle. There is no better symbol.
If Not Now, When? If Not You, Who?
Our republic is based on participation. As long as the good people of this country make their voices heard, we will overcome those who would lead us away from the principles of freedom upon which this nation was founded. Never stop fighting for freedom.
