Police Credit Armed Texas Citizen With Stopping Active Shooter

A man walked into a popular Arlington restaurant and started shouting at the manager. When the manager tried to calm him down, the stranger pulled a gun and shot the manager dead. That’s when a restaurant customer with a concealed handgun license drew his pistol and killed the shooter, stopping the incident. Arlington police credit the armed citizen with stopping what could have been a mass murder. Police made it clear that the citizen defender would not face charges in the incident.

Michigan CCW Holder Foils Quartet Of Robbers

An Ypsilanti man buzzed some people into his apartment building only to find he had a problem: One of the men pulled a gun and tried to rob him. Being legally armed himself, he drew his own pistol and fired on the man, missing the armed robber but putting all four to flight. Police responding to the victim’s call apprehended four men fleeing the scene who turned out to be the suspects. Nothing was taken in the robbery, and no one was injured. The police investigation is continuing.

Texas Man Defends Against Deranged Friend

A Bowie County man had to defend himself against a friend who had been acting strangely of late. When the friend entered his room late one night, acting crazy and pointing a rifle at him, the would-be victim felt he had no choice but to take up a pistol he kept next to his bed for defense. Firing one shot, he stopped the attack when his friend fell to the floor. The defender then rendered CPR to the friend until medical personnel arrived. The deranged friend later died of his injuries. No charges have been filed in the case.

Nevada Man Shoots Knife-Wielding Neighbor

A Las Vegas man awoke early one morning to find a strange man wielding a knife in his bedroom. Fearing for his life, he took up a pistol he kept for self-defense and fired a single shot at the intruder, killing him. The intruder turned out to be a neighbor, though one the defending homeowner did not know. Las Vegas Metro Police say the preliminary investigation results appear to support a case of self-defense.

California Store Clerk Prevents Armed Robbery

One assailant died at the scene, while the two others fled on foot and sought medical attention. One of the wounded assailants died in the hospital. Police are treating the homeowner’s actions as self-defense.

Texas Pizza Driver Kills Armed Robber

A Domino’s Pizza driver in Mesquite was delivering a pizza order when he was met by two men who put a pistol to his head and demanded money. When he did not respond to the robbers’ demands quickly enough, one robber lowered the pistol and fired a single shot off to the driver’s side to intimidate him. That’s when the driver, realizing the seriousness of the situation, drew his own pistol and fired on the robbers three times, killing the man who had held the pistol to his head and driving off the other one. Both robbers were 16 years old. The pizza driver was carrying his pistol on an Arizona permit, which is recognized in Texas. Domino’s Pizza has suspended the driver from his job. Police are investigating the shooting as self-defense.
