In a world full of decisions, you often have to make one choice. Such is the way when pondering where to eat or what movie to see; there are likely more than a few options, but which is the right one?
When it comes to your future, you want the option that stands out as the best choice — the ONLY choice. I am proud to serve with an organization that is the best option and easiest decision for self-defense education and training: the United States Concealed Carry Association (USCCA).
As a criminal defense attorney, I am keenly aware of the benefits of my legal services and so are my clients. The best criminal defense attorneys are not magicians, but it may feel that way when you measure the differences in clients’ results. We cannot change the deck of cards that is evidence in your self-defense case, but we can spot what others may miss, play your hand better and overall stack the deck in your favor. The results can often be staggering.
Why Become a Member of the USCCA?
This is why I am such an avid supporter and fan of the USCCA. I see firsthand, day-in and day-out, the difference between quality representation verses what can pass for it in the trenches of our legal system. All too often, gaining access to the pool of skilled and experienced criminal defense attorneys comes down to price tag.
The USCCA gives you and your loved ones the ability to access that pool when you need it most. It can be impossible to appreciate what this means until you are facing the aftermath of a self-defense incident. As the professional who deals with it daily, I can assure you that while none of us wants the day to come when we need to use our gun in self-defense, it is much uglier than you can imagine.
What About Other Self-Defense Protection Options?
Why the USCCA? There are other protection options out there. Why this one?
Beyond the self-defense education and firearms-training aspects, which should never be deemed inconsequential — believe me, you will regret misunderstanding the law when talking to your criminal defense attorney — the USCCA remains the clear No. 1 choice.
Other options, without naming names, offer you unlimited legal resources … from ONE attorney or law firm (you better hope it’s a good one). While that law firm may be the No. 1 choice in a self-defense or gun case for your insurer, it may not be for you.
The USCCA, on the other hand, gives YOU the freedom to choose your criminal defense and puts the legal market at your fingertips with its expansive attorney network. Unlimited legal resources sound great, but would you seriously go to a buffet with only one option? Probably not.
USCCA Sets the Bar in Quality
Quantity and quality matter, especially when it comes to time. Maybe the best attorney in your town, the one who you and your family deserve, costs $500 per hour or more. How much of his or her time can you purchase? Quality may be king, but its queen is time.
One option in the concealed carry insurance marketplace allows you to choose your attorney, but you have to pay 75 percent of the legal services out of pocket. Maybe the company will reimburse you after everything is done … or maybe they won’t (see the lengthy list of conditions and qualifiers). How many hours of the best option can you afford 75 percent of out of pocket?
Will either option referenced above also help with self-defense or firearms experts? They can easily run five figures. What about bail? What about other various trial costs? Take the time to educate yourself on all of the exclusions in a legal-protection plan. You may be left asking, “What am I actually paying for?”
That is, unless you are a USCCA Member. The protection is obvious and thorough. The USCCA provides the options, the quality and the quantity to get the job done. Don’t shop solely by price. Only the wealthy can afford to buy cheap things because only the wealthy can afford to throw money at it later when it breaks. If it’s important — if it’s vital — educate yourself and make the right call. Welcome to the USCCA family.
