I have been very impressed with what the USCCA stands for (not just teaching firearms, but real self defense and avoidance mindsets in real world applications). There are a wealth of resources for people new to self defense and firearms and they are focused on reality, not some macho Rambo fantasy that many other firearms organizations are. I have been fortunate to not need (and fingers crossed I will never need) the support of the USCCA beyond training resources and occasional questions to their customer service team regarding specific Oregon law questions. They’ve done a very good job of providing answers where possible and being very open when they don’t have an answer (the common answer for difficult questions is to check with your local law enforcement), but generally they do have a good answer for many of the common questions.
