I am in my first year of having a concealed carry permit in California. I will soon be moving to Missouri. I joined USCCA before I earned my permit because I keep a loaded weapon in a biometric safe next to my bed. I also keep a 20 gauge shotgun loaded and accessible due to living with livestock and predators. I have been impressed with the training resources available through USCCA. I have availed myself of them as well as accessing local resources such as friends who are police officers and retired peace officers who take me to the range and put me through my paces. I aced the tests to obtain my permit. The Sheriff of our county was clear during my interview that he has, on any given day in one of the largest California counties, about 5-7 officers on the road. On any given night, his budget gives him zero (0). He wants responsible citizens carrying, trained and protecting. I am a physician who does home visits as part of my practice. Carrying in some very remote areas is much safer than not. I feel prepared to do that because of the excellent training I had hear in my home county and because of the resources available through USCCA.
