Bought a gun to protect my self my family and friends!! USCCA has my back if and when I ever half to use my gun in self defense!!

I purchased an M1A (M14) Match Barrel ~10 years ago when I found it consigned for sale in a gun store. Previous owner had passed and wife was uncomfortable with it in her home. I am a retired Marine with 33 years service and the gun purchase was a no-brainer. I started membership years later when I purchased a M92FS Beretta pistol and obtained a CC permit.

I've been around guns from age 12. It was then when my stepfather allowed me to go out on my own with a gun. Enlisting in the Air Force at 18 formalized my training. My first gun purchase was at age 21 when I decided that self protection was important. Joining USCCA was a opportunity to support an organization of like minded patriots.

I got serious about carrying concealed when my son asked me to take a conceal carry course with his wife so she wouldn't have to go to the class alone. I was grateful when USCCA got on my radar. I recognized the value of what USCCA offers and their excellent training material helps me to keep my head in the game with the right mind set.

I've carried a gun since I was 16 when we had race riots in my high school and surrounding neighbor hoods back in the early 70's, we didn't have a choice and it saved my bacon several times even though it wasn't kosher, so I know what we're facing and why it's important and being a member of USCCA is a no brainer.

The evening that my mother and her lover(one of many). They figured I was asleep but I got up went into dad's bedroom and got the old side by side out and run bouth of them off. He was twice my size and I was only 12,they ran like little babies.

Safety

I joined as soon as I bought my gun and obtained my CCW. Peace of mine.

I bought a gun first and foremost cause I enjoy shooting. But also, I have seen the degrading of society and the anti-police movement with budget cuts and new laws(especially in California). This effects the public's safety in many ways. That reason as well as wanting to protect my wife and kids is why I went out to get my CCW.

One day I was driving home in my truck. Young dude pulled up next to me and stared at me like I was the next happy meal and he wanted it. I had nothing to defend myself but a screw driver and some coins. I felt vulnerable and unprotected. I decidedly then and there that I will never feel that unsafe again. I went home and looked up the steps to carry conceal and at the certification, I learned about USCCA and had to purchase it.
