I’ve always been interested in guns from a young age. I bought my first rifle as soon as I turned 18. I have always wanted to carry to defend myself, but up until recently my state (Maryland) pretty much didn’t allow it. As soon as it was legalized to get my ccw I took my class. I had never heard of USCCA until a rep came to our class and gave the pitch. I was instantly hooked because I wanted to be covered in case I ever needed to defend myself or my family.

Fortunately I didn't have an awakening moment. Other than the governtment starting to infringe on our rights. I wanted to be prepared and prepared responsibly enough. I also wanted to enjoy the sport and hobby that shooting can be. I started the membership to be fully responsible when I took my concealed carry class. There was a USCCA member stating facts and teachable moments about being a gun owner. I feel that if I have a gun in my house I am responsible and should be held liable on all counts. Having the additional insurance gives me at least a little peace of mind.

I grew up around firearms having a grandfather who is grand war veteran and uncle who is a Vietnam veteran me myself my brother and two cousins or Veterans we know the speciality of owning a firearm and not only protecting our families, but also protecting those around us, we were taught young age to defend Those who are unable to defend themselves.

I was threated by in court by a person convicted of robing a theater with a gun. My testimony was what got them caught and convicted. I found out about USCCA listening to talk Radio and decided I needed a plan in place if I Ever had to use my gun to defend myself.

After 36 years I finally bought my first gun. Things just seem to keep getting crazier, people are more emboldened more confrontational and angrier. I got tired of feeling like I would be helpless if I was attacked. Now while carrying I feel like I at least have a chance. Wanting to do things right and protecting my family and myself I looked into getting coverage and found USCCA. The policy is great and protects me and my 2A rights.

There are many reasons why I own firearms and chose to take them almost everywhere I go. I choose to defend myself and others, to be the barrier between good and evil. The responsibility of owning a firearm is undervalued, that’s why I love the content of USCCA. They pressure your experience and training, it’s not just point and shoot. You need to be a thinker. And they offer so much training and scenario based decisions that could change the outcome of your life the moment you expose your firearm. If you own a firearm and don’t know how to put it to work you’re useless and a liability to yourself and those you choose to protect. Most importantly it is your constitutional right to protect the free state. So protect yourself, get a USCCA membership and grow as a critical thinker. That’s what I did. I trust that I will be protected. You can have someone’s six, but who has yours?

I was career military. I’ve been around firearms since 2003. I joined USCCA because I moved away from a communist state (New Jersey), and can now carry everywhere I go and want the added security of knowing that someone will come to my defense if I have to protect myself or my family.
